The White armies The forces that ranged against the Soviet government seemed to be overwhelming, in the summer of 1918. The Volunteer army under Anton Denikin, with French and British supporters, had cleared the Don and Kuban regions of Bolsheviks and threatened the food and fuel supplies of Soviet-controlled areas, down in the south. The varied forces down in the east that were occupying Siberia and that controlled the Trans-Siberian Railway had finally agreed to have a coalition government, the Directory. The Tsarist general E.K. Miller has White forces up in the north, with British support, they controlled the gate of Murmansk and Arkhangelsk. The Germans and som very hostile nationalists stayed in the west. M.S. Uritsky was killed, chief of the Petrofrad Cheka. The defeat of Kolchak, Yudenich and Denikin Soviet�s first concern was to stop the forces centered in Omsk. The success was equally divided in the short-comings of the enemie and the Red army.
