Lincoln�s Assassination Abraham Lincoln was a great president. He had done so many things that had affected his life and presidency, as well as the Civil War. Lincoln had been in office as president throughout all the years of the Civil War. Lincoln had run against four other candidates in the 1860 presidential election. He was a Republican, who was against slavery and had thought it was immoral. His views on slavery were all different from all the other candidates. He had won that election and became president in 1860. During his presidency and the Civil War, he had said and done many things that people thought was right and wrong. The Confederates were not in favor of Lincoln. Lincoln was shot on April 13th, 1865, while he was watching a show in the Ford Theatre in the balcony. His guard had gone for a break. The assassinator was an actor named John Wilkes Booth and he shot him because he thought that Lincoln was helping the South. Lincoln died the next day in the morning on the 14th of April. There were many things that had lead to his death and there were causes to his death......
