Lloyd George and his 1918 Success and the fall of Lloyd George in 1922 In 1918, for a number of possible reasons, Lloyd George had won the General election. Now he was leader he needed good organisation to successfully lead his party. He had a problem instantly, regarding, his reputation. Although before the war his reputation was good and he came across as a natural leader, people now saw Lloyd George as a dishonest and over ambitious leader. He came across as a destroyer of his own party as he liked to work with his plans rather than his party’s plans. He had also damaged his reputation because of his feuds with Asquith. He did still have some positive points and people saw him as a great social reformer, for example, his rationing in time of war and conscription. With this as a problem he probably tried to change the view of the general public and of his party by resolving issues which were destroying his reputation. With this task he failed and a number of other blows were to follow. Firstly as he was seen as a destroyer of his own party he would have tried to reconstruc......
