Lloyd George and his 1918 Success and the fall of Lloyd George in 1922 In 1918, for a number of possible reasons, Lloyd George had won the General election. Now he was leader he needed good organisation to successfully lead his party. He had a problem instantly, regarding, his reputation. Although before the war his reputation was good and he came across as a natural leader, people now saw Lloyd George as a dishonest and over ambitious leader. He came across as a destroyer of his own party as he liked to work with his plans rather than his party�s plans. He had also damaged his reputation because of his feuds with Asquith. He did still have some positive points and people saw him as a great social reformer, for example, his rationing in time of war and conscription. With this as a problem he probably tried to change the view of the general public and of his party by resolving issues which were destroying his reputation.
