Germany clearly is to blame for the occurrences of World War I. The combination of Germany�s nationalism, military might, competition for colonies, and system for military alliances caused the deaths of almost 22 million people all around the world. (Casualties 1). If it were not for Germany�s unnecessary intervention with issues between Austria-Hungry and Serbia, the Great War, with one of the highest casualty rates in modern world history, would never have happened. Millions of lives could have been preserved. On June 28, 1914, the Archduke Francis Ferdinand and his pregnant wife traveled to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia, to inspect Austro-Hungarian troops. (Assassination 1) Ferdinand was strongly advised against this voyage, because he said once he was crowned emperor, he promised to make changes- unfavorable to the Bosnian people. Moreover, Bosnians already held a grudge toward Austria-Hungary, because they were annexed by them in 1908. This infuriated Serbia and Russia. (Assassination 1) Serbian nationalists, at Sarajevo, assassinated the heir to the throne of Austria-Hunga......
