Political Change and Human Rights The effect of the Pinochet��s regime had a massive impact on the new generation due to the numerous cases of violation of fundamental human rights still undiscovered. The seventeen years of torture of humanity finally ended when the dictator himself resigned in 1990. Those that used to be silence could speak up again and with the support from the non-governmental organisations worldwide the oppressors will be pulled to responsibility and pay for their crimes committed during the military coup. As an advisor to the Commission for National Reconciliation in Chile I will introduce a plan which suggests possible compensations to the victims and their relatives in order to restore peace in the country. I divided the report into five different parts. I will begin by introducing some background information on the human rights violations in Chile (1973), next I will identify the main actors in this process and discuss their position for and against in the debates on human rights abuses. Then I will go on to describe tensions and conflicts that arise......
