So in the 1960�s when America and Australia became worried about the spread of communism in South-East Asia, Australia was �quick on the heels� to follow America into the very controversial Vietnam War. At this time Australia was going through a period of economical prosperity, but was also threatened by the spread of communism and so the government was both praised and criticised for its involvement in the war.
