Catcher in the Rye (Family Theme) Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The theme of family is shown throughout J.D. Sallinger’s book Catcher in the Rye. Holden Caulfield constantly talks about his family and how much he misses seeing them because he is always away at school. His family consists of; Phoebe, his younger sister, D.B., his older brother, his mom, his dad, and his oldest brother Allie, who passed away. The images I chose for my collage are all very similar and relate to family. I chose all of these images because they represent my theme well by showing moms, dads, daughters, and sons. The words I chose to put into my collage have to do with the main things a family needs to have healthy relationships. Also the words tell a few things that make a family such as marriage, mothers or mommy, and daughter. One of the words that are in my collage many times is love. In a family love is needed to hold everything together. Without love the family has no chance of being healthy in their relationships.
