Portraying Venus, the Goddess of Love, in paintings is no exception. Venus of Urbino by Titian and Birth of Venus by Botticelli have many similarities and differences. There are many similarities between these two paintings. One similarity, and probably the biggest one, is that both paintings share the same subject, Venus, the Goddess of Love. Another similarity is that they are both nudes, with full, rounded stomachs. Both paintings also have people in the background and flowers within the portrait. In the paintings, Venus has her hands covering her private parts. The paintings are rectangular and both Venuses have their knees bent. The expressions on the faces of the Venuses are also the same.
