Erikson Psychoanalysis of Alexander the Great Abstract This paper studies the inner dynamics of the psychological development of Alexander the Great in Oliver Stone�s Alexander in hopes of achieving a better understanding of this fascinating historical figure. It was achieved by using Erik Erikson�s Psychosocial Stages to categorize Alexander�s development and identify crucial moments in and the outcomes of each psychosocial stage. The findings of the research in this paper can help historians better understand Alexander the Great�s decisions in life. In addition, it can allow historians and psychologists to better predict the future by applying some of the findings of the research in this paper to the world�s current leaders.
