(McKissack 10) The Civil Rights Movement was the nonviolent protest, broke the pattern of racial segregation and achieved The National Equal Rights Movement for racial equality in the United States beginning in the 1960’s, that through al rights legislation for African Americans. The Civil Rights Movement was an important part of history. The Civil Rights Movement’s aim was to change society to make it a better one. It was a very organized and coordinated group. Eventually almost all African Americans and other minorities in the country were involved in the movement to be treated equally. The Civil Rights Movement was the start of national equal rights for African Americans.
