In my life there aren�t many significant others. I think I have pretty much eliminated everyone whose evaluations of me really mattered from my life. I don�t know if you can call that cognitive conservatism. Cognitive conservatism is the tendency to seek information that confirms our existing self-concept. I on the other hand find myself trying not to seek information. When I was about sixteen years old (I just turned 22 last Saturday) I had a lot of friends at school. In general I believed they liked me. At the same time I thought that they perceived me as a dangerous guy, this came to be my presenting-self. Not all people perceived me that way though, especially at home. For me, Junior High School was a negative experience for me, at first I was a shy kid.
