Who do you think is to blame for terrible events in Acts I-III? Examine the characters of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth and The Witches, and consider their roles in the murder of King Duncan and Banquo. • Quotations from the text • Reference to specific scenes and characters Macbeth Before Macbeth met The Witches, he was considered a heroic and loyal soldier. He was high upon moral worth and faithful to the king. Duncan looked up to him which worsens the fact Macbeth killed him. When he meets The Weird Sisters, their prophecies trouble him “Good sir, why do you start and seem to fear, Things that do sound so fair?” He is to be Thane of Cawdor and King as well. Before this meeting he seemed a rightful man and a reliable warrior. He is curious to hear more about his future greatness, “Stay, you imperfect speakers. Tell me more.” It is then these thoughts in Macbeth subconsciously rise.
