The 13 English Colonies are an important part of U.S. history because they were the first settlements in our country. The colonies were settlement started and owned by England. They were located on the eastern coast of North America in 1607-1732. England started them because of four major reasons: 1) for religious freedom:2) earn money from trade:3) wanted to own land:4) to get away from war in Europe. William Bradford and Jhon Winthrop founded Massachusetts in 1620. This colony was founded for religious freedom in the New England Region. Their products were mostly fish and shipbuilding for the area they lived in. The Puritans made a law that every member of the community had to learn to read the bible. The New Hampshire colony was founded in 1623 by Ferdinado Georges and Jhon Mason. This colony was founded to earn money from trade and Fishing in the New England Region. They had 4 products. These products were fishing, lumber, shipbuilding, and whales. In New Hampshire they believed that witches worked for the devil so they would hang them, even the ones who were innocent. ......
