On March 16, 2006, I observed a special education classroom at the Jefferson Center. This classroom contained only disabled students ranging in age from about thirteen-years-old to twenty-one-years-old. This classroom contained students who were on different levels in certain subjects. Most of these students suffered from learning disabilities as well as from behavioral disorders. There was one student who suffered from a moderate disability. I worked with this student for a short period of time, guiding her through several lessons. I have learned that any student with a disability can be a bright student. Her attention was the most difficult thing to grasp, but once attained she had the ability to succeed. Although she had difficulty looking anyone in the face, eye-to-eye, she still understood what people were saying to her at all times. I also worked along with many other students as well.
