This history long debate between the Republican and Democratic parties have divided communities and smashed down racial barriers in recent times. While people grow into political beliefs, they are often placed into either political party based on racial or social economic backgrounds. As a young child growing up in San Francisco, all we were taught about politics is that it was us and them, black or white, poor or rich. It is terrible how ignorance continues to plague the minds of inner-city youth in today's society. Although, in many regions of our great country, many people may not experience racial or social equality. We must take a hard look at ourselves and decide if we are to follow the Republican or Democratic ideology. President Bush's proposal to Congress is for Medicare reform.
