Liu March 18, 2005 Gendered Identity�Men and Women in Conversation Gender identity defines as being able to identify the difference in the male and female gender and the expectations of both as we see them in past and present day conditions. There are a number of complex theories which centre upon questions of identity. There are many issues that need to be considered when discussing this complicated area of study. I propose to examine some of these issues of identity with the support of the work of several writers whom I feel, at least in some part, directly or otherwise, deal with the identity, and Also discuss men and women in conversation and how do their conversational styles differ today.
