Being able to play a sport in college, while at the same time obtaining a �priceless� education for free, is considered by many to be an honor. Countless amounts of NCAA athletes are able to play the sports they love at schools with some of the most storied histories in the world for no cost to them whatsoever. However, being a college athlete is not as easy as it may seem. NCAA athletics are not simply activities for recreational purposes that help the time go by like summer camps. These young athletes have a lot more on their plate than the average college student. Playing an NCAA sport is like having a full-time job in between the other full-time job of academics in college. My roommate plays football for Stony Brook University, which is not a prominent program by any means; it is not even Division-I, it is Division I-AA. Even though the program isn�t the most prominent, my roommate still has to go through a lot in order to play the sport that he loves at this level.
