Are Single-Sex Schools best?! Separation of boys and girls in schools has been a controversial issue for many decades. In my opinion, single-sex schools could actually lead to greater success for many reasons. Although some people believe it�s harmful to separate boys and girls in schools since society itself is mixed, I believe that we should not limit our view to only this aspect and should consider this issue on a wider-base. In addition to eliminating academic distractions and helping to get over some educational problems, single-sex schools also help in breaking down gender identity problems, promoting self-esteem and many other psychological problems. The single-sex setting limits academic distractions which allows better concentration on academic courses and thus improving the academic performance. In mixed schools, students and teachers are faced with the problem of classroom distractions caused by the two genders trying to gain the attention of each other.
