Willy Loman is, what I would call, a confused man. He knows what he wants in life, but he doesn’t know how to get there. His over all goal in life is to be liked, not only by business men and the community, but by his family. But as many of us may not know, there is such a thing as trying too hard, at the wrong time in the wrong direction and then things come falling down on you. Willy was confused and didn’t understand that he was giving too much in the wrong direction.
Willy wants to have his two sons to grow up being popular and successful. They ended up being over thirty years old and still living at home with no job. At this point, Willy argues with his sons to get out there into the business world. But when he loses his job, and his boss tells him that he needs to just take a break and let his sons, start taking care of him, confused Willy states, “I can’t throw myself on my sons.
