When you have or come across an emergency, what is the first thing most people do, or should do? “Call 9-1-1!” In all emergencies, this is the right thing to do. 9-1-1 was developed by AT&T and the FCC, Federal Communications Commission, back in 1967. The main theory behind the idea was to create one universal emergency number that would improve emergency communications and that was also an easy number to remember and dial by all ages of people. Although AT&T developed the concept, it wasn’t until February 16, 1968 that the first 9-1-1 call was placed in the United States.
