After reading “Young Goodman Brown” by Nathaniel Hawthorne, one of the main things that seem to stand out the most, was the major changes in the behavior of the character Goodman Brown, from the very beginning of the story until the end. He was a very religious man with simple values, but then he slowly changed from a religious man to what seemed to be an atheist. Just like Goodman Brown, I too have gone through many changes in my religious views, because of my relationship between my religious views and my martial status. This is why I plan to use this paper as an exploration into my own religious values in comparison to the religious values of the Young Goodman Brown.
All these things came about, because of the important journey he had to make three months, after his marriage. This is when he started to develop strange views about religious rituals and questioned his religion.
