Journey to the Center of the Earth Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The British fiction book I chose for my report was Journey to the Center of the Earth, by the French science fiction writer Jules Verne. There are three main characters in this novel: Harry (the narrator), his uncle Professor Hardwigg, and their Icelandic guide Hans. The story is told from the fist person point of view through Harry. Harry is very young male and probably in his late teens or early 20s. Right from the beginning he only cared about how he thought and felt and took no one else’s feelings into consideration. An example would be that in the very beginning of the book, Harry figured out the code to the parchment that his uncle had found in a book and decided to not tell his uncle because he knew that Professor Hardwigg would drag him on a journey to the center of the earth. Eventually, he told his uncle though. Harry also seemed very and whiney and wussy. He was always complaining about how fatigued and sore he was. He is a very intelligent person and not so coordinated, but he was usually able to carry his share of equipment. Professor Hardwigg is a very smart......
