Assignment I The academic source that I am choosing for my research is a �Therapy Drug for Gambling Addiction�. I am getting this journal from �Copley News Service�. This research was on Sunday, February 6, 2005. The headline of this article is �A Winning Therapy?� This article was written by Penni Crabtree, of Copley News Service. The Sociological Theories that are implemented in this study would be the conflict theory and the functionalist theory. The reason why I think the conflict theory is used in this study is because, for you to come out and say that you are addicted to gambling, would have to cause some time of struggle or conflict within yourself. I mean it must be hard to go out in front of someone and say �I have a problem and I am addicted to gamble. Can you help me?� Not only that it is probably also pretty hard, after you do get the help, to actually stop gambling and not go back to it. Then I also think the functionalist theory is involved because when you do go out and get help it is a gradual and adjustive social change that takes some getting used to. Yo......
