Whether it is necessary to be adding fluoride to water supplies is a controversial and serious issue in America. Though the mineral itself is commonly known to prevent tooth decay (which is why it is being added to American water supplies), most people do not know the adverse health effects fluoride can cause when it is consumed in high dosages (Landes). Through our water supplies, the amount of fluoride cannot be regulated or controlled, which puts millions of Americans in harms way daily. Fluoridation of American water should be immediately halted before the entire nation is at risk. Fluoridation of water is an issue that has been tampered with and tested for years.
