There are several issues today, which date back to the origins of philosophy and that still baffle men from all walks of life; questions like: What is reality? Are we truly free? And, what happens to us after death? These questions have troubled me as well at different points of my life. Although there is no clear answer to any of these questions, I have come to agree and disagree with some points of view proposed by ancient philosophers. The greatest question I have come across deals with my existence and the existence of the universe around me as a whole; what is reality, and what is its nature? It was proposed by Brahman monks that reality could possibly never be understood by any one person. Many philosophers since have tried to sum up reality in terms of what they could conceptually grasp. Many chose to define reality in terms of the fabric it was made of, like Thales, who said the universe was made of water, or Heraclites who said it was rather made of fire, or the concept of ever changing matter, like fire.
