Compare the presentation of the James Bond Genre in the three cinematic Trailers for “Die Another Day”
All three trailers from “Die Another Day” use cinematic conventions usually associated with the Bond films, guns, girls and cars. All the films show the Bond icons, they are like trademarks for the Bond movies; namely, the 007 and Bond’s DJ costume; they are a key point of sale and are shown in all three trailers.
The first trailer begins with a teaser scene which at first looks like a field but it soon becomes clear they are the 3D silhouettes of naked women lying down. Most of the Bond films have the same traditional silhouettes of naked women in their opening sequences, however at first it does not give away what exactly the trailer is advertising and keeps the audience in anticipation of what is happening or what it is about. The camera then zooms out to reveal the previous scene as a reflection in a frozen gun. The gun fires a flaming bullet which flies across the screen as the camera pans with it. The bullet then changes into a car and the scene changes to the North Pole.......
