Canadian Unity Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Canadian Unity Throughout the 20th century, Canada has taken on different roles and experienced different events. Some of these events however, have either helped foster or hindered the idea of Canadian Unity. In this essay, I will talk about these events. These events include the Canadians that fought at the Battle of Vimy Ridge, The Conscription Crisis, The Statute of West minister, and finally, the Front de Liberation Du Quebec. (FLQ) The Battle of Vimy Ridge was a battle that took place in World War One. It is also considered a seminal event in Canadian history for the primary role Canadian forces played in the attack. The capture of the Ridge by the Canadian Corps, under the command of British General Julian H.G. Byng (with Canadian General Sir Arthur Currie acting as Chief-of-Staff), was a turning point for Allied Forces during the First World War. It was a triumphant event that Canadians from Vancouver to Halifax had in common and helped foster national unity.
