Symptoms of Leigh's disease begin between the ages of 3 months to 2 years and continue fast. In some cases, Leigh's disease can begin during late youth or early adulthood and continue more slowly. Dr. Leigh was a *neuropatoligist. He looked at brains after death. Because of him, doctors are able to diagnose children while they are alive, and cure them. Leigh Syndrome is a **childhood neurodegenerative disorder. *A neuropoligist is a doctor that deals with diseases and disorders of the central nervous system. **Irreversible deterioration caused in the nervous system. It is a constant disorder and will affect your brain stem. (the stem that controls the nervous system). But other parts of the brain may be affected as well. Most of the problems take over......
