Human Ancestry Paleontologists have been trying to trace the family tree of man for decades. One of the primary claims of evolutionary theory is that man and all primates share the same ancestors. Various remains of ancient primates have been tentatively placed in a �family tree� of man and primates. I say tentatively because these remains are often incomplete, and more often than not represent a tiny fraction of the skeletal structure. Often only a skull or pieces of bone. We will skip the first obvious logical question of �How can anyone seriously create a man and primate family tree with such spotty remains?� Instead we will address the fact that recent studies, especially in genetics, are threatening to cut down the evolutionary version of man�s ancestry tree.
