Theft is the best theme in this book and is also represented throughout most of the chapters. Theft is the worst situation that can happen to anyone one in this book "There is no act more wrethced than theft". When you usually think of theft the first thing that pops into your head is probably going to be theft of a valuable. This book takes an entirely different look at the word theft, and puts it into many different uses. Khaled did an amazing job working the theme of theft into the kite runner. He took each of the lines from babas speech to Amir (pg 18.), and incorperated it into most of the passages. "When you kill a man, you steal a life. You steal his wifes right to a husband, rob his children of a father. when you tell a lie, you steal someone's right to the thruth. when you cheat you steal the right to fairness." The first line "When you kill a man, you steal a life. You steal his wifes right to a husband, rob his children of a father." is the third most important line in the speech.
