The threat of communism became far too real for the Americans after WWII. After the administration watched the USSR come down on the countries they occupied with an iron fist it was only a matter of time before it spread across the world. Berlin was the political playground that the two sides tested each other. The Americans had the ultimate weapon during the early years after the war but it wasn�t soon after soviet scientist had developed their version of the dooms day device. The race was on to build as many weapons as possible to deter the unthinkable. The Americans vowed to crush communism where ever it sprang up. This was true in Korea where communist North Korea invaded democratic South Korea. The Americans backed up South Korea and pushed the invading forces all the way back to the Chinese boarder. They had pushed to far and were slapped back to the D.M.Z that is still active today. The Americans trained Taliban troops in Afghanistan to rebel against the invading Soviet army. Vietnam possibly one of the American armed forces darkest war was fought only in fear of a dom......
