After World War I, America seemed to be, and probably was, the most prospering country in the world. Many people within the nation kept getting money from their investments in the war, all seemed to be going great for the USA. No one expected the stock market would crash in October of 1929. Though it may not be the main cause behind the depression, it is what kicked the country into its downward spiral for the next eight years before anything got better. Though there were some who seemed unaffected by the depression, like the Kennedys, many Americans had to rough through living in these hard times. Looking back, majority of the survivors of The Great Depression didn’t really think that life was too hard on them. Granted they did have to give up many extras in life and had very little when it came to personal belongings, but they believe that life treated them well and they came out with a better view on life than any child growing up in this generation, who take many things for granted.
