The Art of Poetry There were three poems that I really enjoyed in this section of our class that came from Perrine�s Literature Structure, Sound and Sense. These poems are, �A Study of Reading Habits,� �Ars Poetica,� and �My Number.� All of these poems interested me in different ways. I think that they all have relevance to my life in the sense that these are things I think about. In reading, I always hope I will enjoy it. In poetry, I always strive to understand what poems mean and also to let them �be.� Finally, I sometimes wonder if my time to die will come early or hope that I will have a long successful life. �A Study of Reading Habits,� by Philip Larkin, was one of the most interesting poems that I found in our book. In this poem, the speaker expresses his reading habits throughout his life.
