I think that Victoria should encourage Wind power more in our mix of power supplies. Wind power makes up around two percent of Australia�s energy sources. They are cheap and are not harmful to the environment unlike Nuclear power and Coal power. During this report I am going to prove that wind power is a more effective and reliable source of electricity. One of the major problems with burning coal (especially brown coal) is the gases that it is released into the atmosphere, thirty percent of Co2, which is very harmful increasing the global warming problem. The worst green house gas emission plant in Victoria is Hazelwood. For every megawatt it produces, Hazelwood produces 1.54 tonnes of green house gas. This plant was due to close in 2009 but the government extended its life to 2031. There are many people that are against wind power saying they are unattractive but I believe that they are interesting and not that bad to look at.
