According to Khmer New Year as well as lunar calendar, on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of April, it is when Khmer New Year is celebrated. Khmer New Year lasts 3 days: the first day called Moha Sang Kran, the second day called Wanabot, the third day called Leung Sakk.
Khmer New Year Eve is the busy day because houses need cleaning, and the things inside have to be dusted. The floor is supposed to be swept and laid with the carpet if possible; also, playground has to weeded as well as raked. People go to tailors' shop on purpose of making new clothes and they go shopping for buying new things to decorate the houses such as flowers, vines, and the multicolored lamps. They also prepare shrines on which they put the offering such as cakes, marmalades, vases of flowers, incense sticks, colored papers, colored candles, small banana trees stabbed with incense sticks and banana leaves, and the photographs of the dead relatives.
