Living with Asthma Kelly is a busy 23 year old who works two jobs and goes to school full time. Kelly has been suffering from asthma since the age of 15. She had inherited asthma from her grandfather and the fact that her parents smoked did not help her situation. Kelly will never forget her first asthma attack. She woke up in the middle of the night with a horrible chocking feeling. She could not get enough air in her lungs; whenever she would breathe, she heard a high pitch wheezing sound. Naturally, she was frightened and called for her parents. Kelly�s parents immediately took her to the hospital, where they had given her a steroid shot. Much to her amazement, she began to breathe normally. The doctors had told her parents that Kelly had experienced her first and probably not her last asthma attack. Kelly�s doctors had explained, in a healthy airway, the passage way is unrestricted and air way is normal.
