Forrest Gump Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Forrest Gump The film Forrest Gump was released to theatres in 1994. The time period in which the film was depicted was from the 1950’s until the 1980’s. There are many historical events that are cleverly depicted in this endearing film. For the sake of this paper I will describe two of them. First off is Gump appearing on television June 11, 1963, standing behind Governor George Wallace at Foster Auditorium during a protest against University desegregation known as "Stand in the Schoolhouse Door.” I thought that the scene was absoulutely hilarious in that one of the students drops her notebook and Forrest walks over to pick it up and hand it to her despite all of the surrounding protesters. Secondly, Upon visiting President Nixon after his visit to China for his Ping-Pong Championship, he is invited by the President to stay in Washington at the Watergate Hotel. His sleep is disturbed when he sees flashlights in the offices opposite his room. He then proceeds to call the front desk and explain that he cannot sleep and that the people across the way might have blown a fus......
