Television Violence Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Many people believe that television violence has a negative effect on society because it promotes violence. Do you agree or disagree? Use specific reasons and examples to support your response. Before the time a typical American child even reaches high school he or she will have watched an average of 100,000 acts of violence on television. 8,000 of these violent acts will be of detailed murders. I strongly agree that television violence has a negative effect on people all over the world. Watching violent shows has a lastingly effect on people’s character. By letting a child watch violence on television, the child becomes approximately 70 more likely to become a violent adult. Or they may grow up to be fearful of the world around them. Either way, these children will be impervious to the pain and suffering of others. The time to act is now- because there is no time to spend in selfish denial.
