According to the many literary experts, Jay Gatsby is the number one, fictional character in the past 102 years. Francis Scott Fitzgerald is the author of a novel entitled The Great Gatsby in which the narrator, Nick Carraway, moves from Western America to West Egg and befriends a mysterious Jay Gatsby. Gatsby�s sole objective in the novel is to win back the woman he loves: Daisy Buchanan. Fitzgerald successfully portrays Gatsby in such a way that he was named the number one fictional character in literature since 1900 for many reasons.
