General Electric Medical Systems The case study on General Electric Medical Systems (GEMS) is prepared and presented using reports of the company and provides a GE-master view of the progress and growth of the division and its success. The success is related to the financial performance of the company and does little to explore the effects of GEMS actions on the economy and work force. In this paper I will review the important feature of the case study and also highlight some aspects of the other side of the coin. During the management of Jack Welch followed by Jeff Immelt, GEMS had grown to be the lead player in medical diagnostic equipment supplies and maintenance services.
