This is true of the play to some extent but Shakespeare introduces much disharmony not only with the events that take place, but conflicts and disharmony within the characters. Prospero�s plan is largely harmonious due to his absolute control over every character through the power of his Art and influence over his spirit servant Ariel. The characters play into Prospero�s hands, largely because they are unaware of his presence and the predicament they are in. The characters that he controls have often been recognised as �puppets, acting out a great charade� , meaning they have no decision to what Prospero the �puppet master� wills them to do.
