Race in America Abstract: Why is the valuing of cultural diversity important in America? Cultural diversity is considered facially neutral, and is to be practiced and viewed upon as culture-conscious instead of race-conscious, (Ramirez, Steven). In order to value cultural diversity in America, people have to look past the race factor in order to determine each individual�s potential ability and contribution to cultural diversity. Therefore, the value of cultural diversity can have a merit-driven approach regarding each person�s independent contribution, relevant to their own particular �race�, thus creating a better understanding of cultural diversity, not only on an institutional level, but in a legal perspective as well.
