The definition of the word �lust� is a little sketchy. I think it can be better defined By using examples, narratives, and the common usage. The word lust developed from from words used in biblical translations and early Germanic languages, it meant pleasure. The first known use of it as a verb was in 1230 and it meant to please. In the bible in 1526 the meaning to have a strong sexual desire came about ( ). Today the Oxford English Dictionary defines lust as; personal inclination, usually intense or unbridled sexual desire, an intense longing. I think it is important to understand this term because many people just associate it with the sexual meanings but it can also be used to describe feelings for other reasons. The things that we lust after are not always sexual related. It could be money, power, or just about anything else. Usually we hear teaching about lust as sexual desires or earthly goods, not coveting another's wife or goods, or about men doing unnatural things with men, as in Romans 1, but I want to look at it on a little wider scale, so we don't think......
