Learning to speak is a very sophisticated cognitive process. Throughout the process, various social and cognitive factors affecting the way one learns to speak. As mentioned by Carol K. Sigelman in his book: Life-span human development (1999) the social cognitive theory of Bandura (1986) suggested that human can learn by observing the behaviors of other people (called models).
