Continental Philosophy Idealism was brought to us by Hegel and it has had a big impact on our society. This type of philosophy formed the basis for the later developments of Marxism, which is the economic and political thought that was developed by Karl Marx. The desire that Hegel has was to present a surrounding theory to the bounds or limits with the infinite. Hegel began with the claim that the sense knowledge, in itself, can not explain itself; so we had to turn toward the inside of our understandings to come to the true source of philosophical knowledge. Hegel believed that the mind is the supreme process and that we need to find a new way of thinking. We can both take the straight approach or the round about approach and contradict ourselves. According to Hegel, contradicting ourselves is the method we need to do. Hegel liked to try to resolve the disagreements through rational discussions that were known as the dialectical method.
