Culture is a complex whole, which includes knowledge, belief, morals, laws, customs, or any other capabilities and habits acquired by humans as members of society. Past literature shows that the mother-daughter relationship is considered the most significant of all intergenerational contact. For generations, a mothers’ job has been to teach and to meet men's needs while suppressing their own. Girls are taught to be attractive and caring, not to outshine men intellectually and to look for approval. Each mother has to transmit the rules of femininity to her daughter to help them survive in the world, as she knows it.
For purely practical reasons my mother chooses to indict upon me her every thought of demoralization for every piece of revealing clothing that I wear. Her constant nag of how I dress or the music I choose to listen to is another brick in the wall of frustration that has been in constant construction ever since I was able to comprehend. It cannot be too strongly urged that a teenager be desperately molded into the quintessential perfect child.
