Today, capital punishment can be looked at in two different perspectives, right or wrong. Capital punishment, to me, is an unjust punishment. For example, if one is tried and convicted of murder in the first degree and sentenced to death by execution he or she may never have the chance to talk to their loved ones again. Even though people reading this may be thinking to themselves, the one who was murdered never got to tell there loved ones goodbye either, but everyone makes mistakes. A mistake made by a person that is that unaccredited for should be punished, yes, but should that person really be put to death? The person tried will never be able to think, breath, or even laugh, ever again. Can one honestly say that the murderer would never regret what he or she did? From my perspective of the punishment, I can not for the reason that, having to sit in prison for days and days of their life I am sure that he or she thought about the mistake they made everyday.
