To Kill A Mockingbird Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird is a classic, which tells of exactly what the title suggests, “Mockingbirds”. A mockingbird represents the idea of innocence. Innocence suggests harmlessness, so an innocent character should not be harmed, or as it should seem. It tells of a young sister and older brother overcoming childhood to grow up to learn important values and ways of life through experience. It teaches what real courage is, along with illustrating other themes such as “you never really know a man until you stand in his shoes and walk around in them” (the book). Courage is taught through a strange, recluse character, whom the children are fascinated by. Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird illustrates man’s inhumanity to man. Inhumanity is first shown through Atticus. Atticus is a good, caring, and intelligent man. He does not bother anyone or start any trouble. He does the best he possibly can to raise his children, Scout and Jem, to be the best persons they can be. Atticus does not hunt or even kill insects. So, what does people do t......
