In 2003 there were 6,328,000 car accidents in the US. 2.9 million injuries occurred and 42,643 people were killed in auto accidents that didn�t have to happen. Drunk driving, cell phone usage, eating while driving, falling asleep at the wheel, road rage, and harsh weather conditions are all causes of these accidents. These issues have proved a difficult problem since the early 1900�s when gasoline cars made their debut on our roads. Since cars will not likely vanish from our way of living, one must look for ways of improving our situation with our ever-evolving technology. Every year almost 20,000 people are killed in accidents involving people under the influence of alcohol or drugs. That means that someone is killed from an alcohol related incident approximately every seven hours and twenty nine minutes. These types of accidents end up costing the nation almost $50 billion dollars each year. This is a rise of 4% since 1994. Every year, the police give a breath test to 1.2 - 1.4 million car drivers and about 7,000- 10,000 boat drivers to eliminate drunken drivers endangering......
