Immigration has a great impact on the politics in the United States. Illegal immigrants have become a hot issue in the world of politics. Immigrants have come up with many ways of migrating to the US, both illegally and legally. The Republicans came up with a bill that says that immigrants who could not show that they were in the US legally would be imposed with a 5% surcharge. The Republicans believe that the majority of the public is with them and the time to make a change is now. The Democrats on the other hand, believe that this immigration, legal or illegal, is okay. Senator Sam Zamarripa, who is an Atlanta Democrat, argued with groups of people to allow people who are under 18, and come into the US, access to parental care and the ability to receive a higher education.
